摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an element to be improved in the performance of mutual positioning of a plurality of elements constituting a transmission belt of a vehicular belt-type continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the element 24 includes a first press process 102 for pressing the element 24 to protrude a projection 32 in the direction of thickness from one end face 30, and a second press process 104 for pressing at least part of the tip 38 of the projection 32 protruded from the one end face 30 in the opposite direction to the direction of protrusion of the projection 32 to expand the tip 38 radially of the projection 32 so as to reduce the radius of curvature R<SB>CR</SB>of a tip corner 42 formed at the outer circumference of the tip 38. As for two adjacent elements 24, this can reduce the clearance between the inner circumference 44 of a recess 36 and the tip corner 42 of the projection 32 radially of the projection 32 to improve the performance of mutual positioning of the elements 24.
