PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snow compressing device for achieving smooth traffic by pressing snow fallen and piled up onto a road surface and reducing its volume. SOLUTION: The snow compressing device (10) comprises a snow compressing plate (14) mounted to a front portion of a tire shovel (12) for pressing the snow fallen and piled up onto the road surface, and a roller (16) rotatably mounted to a rear position of the tire shovel for rolling over the snow compressed by the snow compressing plate while forming unevenness on the snow surface. The snow compressing plate is mounted at an angle of 20-30 degrees to the road surface in a side view, and also at an angle of 20-30 degrees to a line perpendicular to the boundary line between a foot walk and a roadway in a plan view.
