PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC motor wherein a cogging torque is reduced by contriving the structure of a magnet. SOLUTION: The motor 10 is equipped with: a cylindrical magnet 11 where thick parts 14 becoming the center of the magnetic pole and thin parts 15 becoming the boundary of the magnetic pole are arranged alternately in the circumferential direction; a yoke 21 arranged on the outer circumferential surface 13 side of the magnet 11; a core 31 arranged on the inner circumferential surface 12 side of the magnet 11 through a predetermined gap; and a rotating shaft 41 that holds the core 31. A pair of grooves 18a and 18b extending in the axial direction from the upper end face 16 toward the lower end face 17 are formed in the outer circumferential surface 13 of the magnet 11 symmetrically to the center of each magnetic pole.
