The present invention relates to a novel peptide that promotes the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and to a pharmaceutical composition including same for preventing and treating Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, wherein the peptide of the present invention promotes the expression of the BDNF protein in the human dopamine-responsive cell line, easily traverses the blood-brain barrier due to the low molecular weight thereof, and can be effectively used for preventing and treating neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases due to the low cytotoxicity thereof.
