<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup that easily adjusts aberration of an objective lens as a directional optical component. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup includes a lens holder 5, an objective lens 4 as a directional optical component to be tentatively placed on the lens holder 5 so as to be rotatable, a flat end surface 43 provided on the outer rim portion of the objective lens 4, and invisible first and second measurement points M1, M2 determined at two different points of the end surface 43.
