PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device, which can further suppress the occurrence of wrinkles, when fixing an image to a tubular article object and suitably fix an image to normal target transfer material that is not cylindrical. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes a first rotor 9a; a heater 913; a second rotor 920; a third rotor 930; a rotating belt 9b; a fixing nip N9 including a main fixing nip MN and capable of forming an auxiliary fixing nip HN; a fourth rotor 940 for pressing against the internal circumferential surface of the upstream portion 965 in the rotating belt 9b; a fixing nip-pressure changing section 511 for changing to a first nip pressure or a second nip pressure; a fixing nip-length changing section 512 for changing to a first nip length or a second nip length; a fixing nip-pressure changing control section 971 for controlling the fixing nip-pressure changing section 511, according to whether or not target transfer material T is a tubular article; and a fixing nip-length changing control section 972 for controlling the fixing nip-length changing section 512, according to whether the target transfer material T is a tubular article.
