The exhaust gas treatment device has a particle filter (10) that is arranged in an exhaust system (3) downstream an internal combustion engine (2). A fresh air channel (12) is discharged in the exhaust system upstream the particle filter. The fresh air channel is released for recycling the particle filter. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a drive device with a bypass; and (2) a method for operating an exhaust gas treatment device.
