PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow both creator and recipient to employ the same OCR (optical character recognition) service to ensure the same performance of the OCR service, while increasing the possibility of matching between OCR services available for the creator and recipient by using a plurality of OCR services. SOLUTION: When a printing OCR service is used in OCR, all OCR services available in printing are used in OCR, and all hash values obtained from a result are written in an electronic file and imaged in association with identifiers of OCR services. Upon reception, OCR is executed by all available OCR services among all the OCR services written in the electronic file acquired from the image.
