The invention is directed to a process and an apparatus for inductively hardening a large, flat, annular workpiece, wherein the workpiece is rotated about an axis which is approximately at right angles to the base plane thereof during the inductive hardening; a rotary table or at least two rolls or rollers with an approximately or predominantly horizontal longitudinal axis serves or serve to support the workpiece during the inductive hardening in such a manner that said workpiece is mounted rotatably about an axis of rotation which is approximately at right angles to the base plane thereof. |
