<p>Heating a pre-reformer in a synthesis gas system, which is designed for the catalytic conversion of an existing feed (9) in to a methane-rich intermediate product (12), predominantly of hydrocarbon, comprises supplying a methane-rich gas stream (methane-feed (2)) with increased temperature to a steam reformer, during heating of the pre-reformer in the synthesis gas system and converting the stream into a crude synthesis gas by steam reforming, using a part (11) of the methane-feed for the formation a hot gas (8), and subsequently passing the hot gas through the pre-reformer for heating. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a device for heating a pre-reformer in the synthesis gas system, in which a hydrocarbon containing feed is converted in the presence of water vapor over a catalyst in to a methane-rich intermediate product, comprising a feeding device, via which a part of the methane-feed is fed as hot gas to the pre-reformer, where the synthesis gas system comprises the steam reformer; and (2) the synthesis gas system comprising a control circuit, by which the amount and/or the temperature of the hot gas is adjusted so that the temperature of the pre-reformer automatically follows a predetermined heating curve.</p> |
