The method involves writing individual data into a microchip (1) by a contactless data communication (7) via a contactless interface (4) of the microchip using a writing and reading device (5). The data is read from the microchip by the writing and reading device. The interface is designed to execute the contactless data communication with the writing and reading device. A sequence and/or integrity of the microchip in a multi chip arrangement is verified by reading the data. Positions of the microchip in the arrangement are determined by determining position data of the microchip. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a microchip comprising a contactless interface (2) a writing/reading device for contactlessly writing and reading individual data via a contactless interface of a microchip.
