The generator (1) has an inner upper surface (2) externally limiting an inner volume (3) in a radial manner. Electrical energy is generated by the generator during temperature gradient from the inner surface to an outer surface (4). A catalytic coated element (5) i.e. wire, is arranged in the inner volume. The catalytic coated element exhibits a surface structure for enlarging the surfaces. The inner surface is catalytically coated, where the generator exhibits a round or oval or rectangular cross-section. An exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine is passed through the generator.
