There is disclosed a technique for allowing a mobile terminal to maintain a communication connection even when the address type, which is provided due to a change in the network environment, has been changed in an environment in which the mobile terminal uses IP addresses of address types of IPv4 and IPv6 to perform communications (for example, when a handover occurs). According to the technique, in order to maintain the communication connection even when the mobile terminal (UE 10), which complies with different IP versions, is handed over to a network (UTRAN) that can support only one IP version, the mobile terminal creates packet filters (packet forwarding information) associated with the IP addresses of the different IP versions held by the mobile terminal. Further, the mobile terminal may restrict necessary packet filters with reference to the IP addresses or applications held by the mobile terminal itself or to the corresponding IP version or the like of the other end of communication. Moreover, the mobile terminal may add information specifying the treatments of the packet filters after the handover.
