PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for generating a tool path that obtains a smooth processing surface without generating a level difference between adjacent tool paths. SOLUTION: The device includes: a program reader 32 that reads the tool path of a processing program 20; a target coordinate value operation part 34 that sets multiple target points on the tool path that has been read; and a curve approximation part 36 that generates the tool path based on multiple targets.
