PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rocking chair in which a seat outer shell 11 and a seat upper metal fitting 10 are integrally movable back and forth relative to a seat base 9, the fingers and clothes of a sitting person are prevented from touching a sliding part between the seat base and the seat upper metal fitting by completely covering the sliding part, the seat outer shell is inserted into and attached to the seat upper metal fitting from the front with simple and easy work efficiency and the lower surface of the seat outer shell is lifted with a hand when lifting a chair. SOLUTION: To the seat base 9, the seat upper metal fitting 10 is mounted so as to be moved back and forth through a slider holding part 27 and not to be detached upwards. On the seat outer shell 11 for fixing the seat, an attachment opening 11a opened to the back and insertable into the outer peripheral side of the seat base is formed, an engaging pawl 54 at the front part of the seat outer shell and the front end part of the seat upper metal fitting are engaged with each other, and the upper surface of the seat outer shell and the seat upper metal fitting are fixed to each other with a screw.
