PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved security architecture to an apparatus which provides a service accessible by other communicating apparatuses. SOLUTION: The apparatus, which communicates with other apparatuses to allow them to access applications, includes: at least a first application; an authentication means for authenticating a communicating apparatus; and an access control means accessible by the communicating apparatus, which requests access to the first application and has not been authenticated by the authentication means. The apparatus is configured so as to determine whether access of the communicating apparatus to the first application is allowed or refused, and when the determination requires an authentication of the communicating apparatus, the access control means instructs the authentication means to authenticate the communicating apparatus.
