PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which is suitably used in improving the skin barrier function and contains a novel TRPV ligand, above all, a component having an agonist effect to activate TRPV. SOLUTION: The composition to be suitably used in improving the skin barrier function contains a novel TRPV ligand, above all, an extract which is obtained from a plant belonging to the genus Lagerstroemia of the family Lythraceae or the genus Uncaria of the family Rubiaceae and has an agonist effect to activate TRPV.
