PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a fluorine-containing carboxylic acid anhydride at a high yield using a corresponding fluorine-containing carboxylic acid fluoride. SOLUTION: The method of producing a fluorine-containing carboxylic acid anhydride represented by formula (3): (R<SB>f</SB>CO)<SB>2</SB>O [in the formula, R<SB>f</SB>represents the same group as the group in formula (1)] includes reacting a fluorine-containing lithium carboxylate represented by formula (1): R<SB>f</SB>COOLi (in the formula, R<SB>f</SB>represents a fluorine-containing alkyl group) with a fluorine-containing carboxylic acid fluoride represented by formula (2): R<SB>f</SB>COF [in the formula, R<SB>f</SB>represents the same group as the group in formula (1)].
