PURPOSE: A device of a portable terminal is provided to execute a mode or a function corresponding to a rotation location through the rotation of a rotation dial. CONSTITUTION: A mode/function setting unit(340) sets a mode or a function of a portable terminal. An UI object generating unit(330) generates an object. If the rotation of an object display dial is sensed, a position checking unit(350) checks the location of an object corresponding to the location of the rotated dial. A mode/function execution unit(370) performs execution of a function corresponding to the object or conversion to a mode corresponding to an object corresponding to the location.
