PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner which realizes high packing property of the toner in a toner image, a high-definition image with small layer thickness of the image, and stable cleaning property for a long time, to provide a developer capable of realizing high image quality by using the toner, and to provide a container packed with toner, a process cartridge, an image forming apparatus and a method for forming an image by using the above toner. SOLUTION: The toner contains a toner material containing at least a binder resin and a colorant, and is spherical having a rugged surface. The shape factor SF-1 representing the spherical degree of the toner ranges from 105 to 180, and the shape factor SF-2 representing the rugged state of the toner and the volume average particle diameter of the toner show correlation.
