Polychlorinated C9- 15 isoparaffins are prepared by polymerizing a C2- 15 mono-olefin and then hydrogenating a C9- 15 mono-olefinic polymer thus produced in the presence of a hydrogenetion catalyst substantially up to complete saturation of the double bonds, followed by chlorination of this hydrogenated polymer in the liquid state by means of a gas-containing chlorine up to an average substitution of more than 1 and up to 6 chlorine atoms for hydrogen atoms. The products may be stabilized by the addition of an epoxy resin. |
