The invention relates to a system for processing grains. The system according to the invention contains a milling unit for milling the grain seeds or grain pieces into grain particles such as meal or flour; a conveying line between at least two of the milling units; a global control system that extends across at least a majority of the units of the system; and/or at least one local control system associated with at least one respective unit and at most with a majority of the units. According to the invention, the system is controlled using a global control strategy for at least a majority of the units of the system and a local control strategy for at least one respective unit and at most for a majority of the units of the system.
