This invention relates to a novel composition useful for the treatment of skin, and more particularly, to a composition containing benzoyl peroxide for treating acne while providing enhanced delivery and low level of irritation to skin.
The composition comprises a mixture of a co-solvent (preferably volatile polysiloxanes) and an ester (like for instance waxes, shea butter, cetyl stearate, sunflowerseedcetyl lactate).
