<p>1,083,628. Valve. SWIMQUIP Inc. April 26, 1966 [Feb. 7, 1966], No. 18169/66. Heading F2V. A valve 16 comprises a cylindrical housing 17 having ports 15, 18, 36, 37, 39 in its sidewall. A valve stem 23 extends through the housing and carries two elliptical-shaped valve discs 17, 19 inclined to the axis and carrying sealing rings 30. With the stem in the position shown the port 36, is connected to the port 37 and the port 15 to the port 18 and when the stem is rotated through 180 degrees, the port 36 is connected to the port 15 and the port 18 to the port 39. The valve is used in a filtration apparatus where, with the valve in the position shown, water is pumped from a pool 10 to a filter F and back to the pool, but when the valve is rotated through 180 degrees, the water from the pump washes the filter F and flows to waste W.</p> |
