A method for preventing or treating a degenerative disease of the spine in hyper or hypolordosis comprises the identification of spasmed muscles that surround the damaged segment of the spine and subsequent post isometric relaxation of the muscle groups distinguished on the basis of physical exercise to eliminate the functional units.
