The present invention relates to a human monoclonal antibody or fragment thereof which specifically binds to epitope, preferably a discontinuous epitope, and neutralizes primate GM-CSF, wherein said discontinuous epitope further comprises amino acids 23-27 (RRLLN) and/or amino acids 65-77 (GLR/QGSLTKLKGPL). The invention further relates to a polynucleotide molecule encoding the antibody, a pharmaceutical composition, and to use of a human monoclonal antibody in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of inflammatory diseases, a tumorous disease or another condition with delayed cell apoptosis, increased cell survival or proliferation. |
