PURPOSE: A method for converting a two-dimensional image into a three-dimensional image and apparatus thereof are provided to generate relative depth map which uses an existing disappearing point and to convert a two-dimensional image into a three-dimensional image. CONSTITUTION: A histogram is generated according to the per-pixel density value of two-dimensional image(S110). A relative depth map is generated to focus out the long distance spot according to the directionality of a histogram from a camera. An edge image extracts edge from two-dimensional image(S130). A horizontal depth image generates depth between two-dimensional image objects from the edge image(S140). A three-dimensional image synthesizes two-dimensional image after synthesizing horizontal depth map.
