PURPOSE: A method for operating a light source and display device therefor are provided to stably operate a light source unit including light emitting strings. CONSTITUTION: A light source unit(210) includes a plurality of light emitting strings and provides light to a display module. A light source operating unit(240) includes an inverter, a voltage transformer, a compensator, and a rectifier. The inverter inverts a DC voltage into a first AC voltage. The voltage transformer transfers the first AC voltage into a second AC voltage. The compensator compensates for an operating AC voltage based on the second AC voltage to flow the amount of currents in the light emitting strings. The rectifier applies driving voltages to the light emitting strings by rectifying the operating AC voltage. |
