PURPOSE: A method for preparing silica surface-treated titanium oxide powder is provided to obtain titanium dioxide powder which consists of particles with at least more than 100 nm of particle diameter and has wide ultraviolet blocking property from ultraviolet B to ultraviolet A. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing silica surface-treated titanium oxide powder comprises the steps of: (i) preparing a reactant by mixing titanium dioxide powder with a diameter of 15-100 nm with water and alcohols; (ii) injecting silicon alkoxide to form silica surface-treated titanium oxide while removing titanium dioxide particles with a diameter is 100 nm or less; (iii) dipping a reactant of step (ii), and separating silica surface-treated titanium oxide while removing titanium dioxide particles with a diameter of 100 nm or less; and (iv) drying the silica surface-treated titanium oxide powder of step (iii), and drying the titanium dioxide particles with a diameter of 100 nm or less.
