PURPOSE: Glass for a near infrared ray filter is provided to improve the water repellent property of phosphorous-based glass by limiting the content of phosphorus pentoxide and using zirconium oxide. CONSTITUTION: Glass for a near infrared ray filter includes 30 to 60 weight% of phosphorous pentoxide, 3 to 8 weight% of boron oxide, 1 to 3 weight% of silicon oxide, 10 to 20weight% of alkaline earth metal oxide, 5 to 15 weight% of aluminum oxide, 1 to 5 weight% of zirconium oxide, and 1 to 5 weight% of copper oxide. The alkaline earth metal oxide is composed of barium oxide, magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, and strontium oxide. |
