PURPOSE: A joint jaw assembling apparatus and method for a pipe joint are provided to supply enough joint jaws through continuous operation of ball feeder units under the control of a control unit. CONSTITUTION: A joint jaw assembling apparatus for a pipe joint comprises first and second ball feeder units(100,200), a transfer unit(300), a jaw holder aligning unit(500), a gripper unit(400), an assembling unit, and a control unit(700). The first and second ball feeder units respectively supply a jaw holder and a joint jaw with the same assembly posture. The transfer unit is transferred up and down and back and forth to deliver the jaw holder to upside. The jaw holder aligning unit is moved back and forth and rotated to rotate the jaw holder so that a jaw mounting hole of the jaw holder is aligned to an assembly position. The gripper unit transfers the jaw holder from the transfer unit to the jaw holder aligning unit. The assembling unit transfers the joint jaw from the second ball feeder unit to an assembly position and assembles the joint jaw by inserting the joint jaw up to the jaw mounting hole of the jaw holder. The control unit controls the operation of each unit. |
