PURPOSE: A high voltage lithium secondary battery is provided to improve the high temperature performance of a 5V class lithium secondary battery, and to improve the lifetime and reliability of the battery. CONSTITUTION: A high voltage lithium secondary battery comprises a spinel positive electrode(LiNi_xMn_(2-x)O_4) for high voltage, negative electrode, and electrolyte. The high voltage lithium secondary battery is used as a pyrazole derivative as an electrolyte additive. The pyrazole derivative is added in the amount of 0.05~10 parts by weight based on the electrolyte.
