PURPOSE: A median strip having a shock-absorbing function is provided to minimize damage to the median strip and vehicles when the vehicles collide against a guardrail by damping the collision impact in multiple stages. CONSTITUTION: A median strip having a shock-absorbing function comprises posts(10), a guardrail(20), and first and second damping members(30,40). The posts are installed at regular intervals in the middle of a road to divide the road into lanes of opposite directions. The guardrail is formed in a W shape which is approximately continuously connected and coupled to the posts to prevent vehicles running on the road from entering one of the lanes from the other. The first and second damping members are coupled between the posts and the guardrail to absorb an impact of a vehicle colliding against the guardrail.
