<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decompose garbage appropriately by using microorganisms. <P>SOLUTION: In the method, a container is moved through a garbage injection process, a plurality of garbage decomposition processes and a decomposed garbage residue discharge process. Wherein, the microorganisms, that perform decomposing activity in accordance with the garbage compositions, are imparted to respective processes of the plurality of the garbage decomposition processes. The respective processes of decomposing garbage are continued successively from low temperature to high temperature in the activation proper temperature of the microorganisms to be imparted, so that the temperature atmosphere corresponding to the activation proper temperature of each of microorganisms is obtained, and further the temperature adjustment of the microorganisms is performed in respective decomposition processes. The garbage decomposition apparatus is composed of: a transportation pipe composed of a transporting outer pipe and a transporting inner pipe which are buried coaxially in the ground; a culture medium of the microorganisms charged in a hollow part between the transporting outer pipe and the transporting inner pipe; and a plurality of garbage containers that are transported through the transporting inner pipes connected inside.
