<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining head of a laser beam machine, a machining head prevented from being damaged when a nozzle unit and a workpiece collide with each other during high speed moving/positioning. <P>SOLUTION: The machining head 1 of a laser beam machine is capable of freely moving/positioning relatively in the two X, Y axis directions for a workpiece and freely vertically positioning in the Z axis direction. A sensor head assembly 13 having an assist gas injection nozzle is installed in the machining head body, that a sensor head protector 15 having a sensor head protective cover 19 with a curved shape projected downward is installed freely detachably and exchangeably in the sensor head assembly and that, when the machining head and an end of the workpiece or a rising part on the upper face side of the workpiece collide with each other, the sensor head protector runs onto the end or the rising part of the workpiece, forcing the machining head to move to the upper part of the Z axis, passing the collision part, and thereby relieving the impact of the collision. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
