PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fixing temperature from being raised by controlling laser power in fixing a second face when fixing a first face of a recording sheet and fixing the second face in duplex printing. SOLUTION: A color multifunction machine 100 includes a thickness detection means 70 which is provided for measuring thickness of a recording sheet on a conveying path of the recording sheet which has been delivered from a paper feed part and has not reached a fixing device 15 yet. When the recording sheet is thin, the image forming apparatus reduces laser power for output. Even when show-through occurs, the fixing temperature of a toner is maintained so as not to exceed a set temperature. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
