PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition good in processability and moldability, high in rigidity, excellent in abrasion resistance, and capable of being improved in weight reduction and low fuel consumption rate and being used suitably for a pneumatic tire; and to provide a tire using the same. SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains 3 to 20 pts.wt. of a whole aromatic polyamide fiber in a dienic rubber, wherein the content of the whole aromatic polyamide fiber is 3 to 20 pts.wt. with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the rubber; and the whole aromatic polyamide fiber has a diameter of 25 to 70μm, a length of 0.1 to 2.0 mm and an aspect ratio of 1.5 to 50.
