PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting the state of a gear case is provided to accurately measure the pressure of oil filled in a gear case because a pressure sensor can be installed inside the gear case. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for detecting the state of a gear case comprises a sensing unit, a control unit(40), and a display unit(50). The sensing unit detects the internal state of a gear case(10) in which a traction motor gear, a reduction gear, and an axle gear are engaged together in a power car of a train. The control unit sets reference values for the temperature, pressure, and vibration of the sensing unit and determines an abnormal state when a sensing value of the sensing unit exceeds a reference value. The display unit displays the abnormal state determined by the control unit. The sensing unit comprises a pressure sensing pin(31a) received in the gear case, a fixture(31b), and a fastening member(32).
