摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step count detection device, a program and a method counting as accurate as possible a step count even if a pedestrian walks with a mobile terminal on hand. SOLUTION: The step count detection device detects the step count of the pedestrian carrying the device by the use of three-axis geomagnetic data output from a geomagnetic sensor. The device includes: a change angle calculation means calculating a change angle from a nearest angle of a geomagnetic vector from the geomagnetic data corresponding to a time lapse; a local minimum detection means detecting a time point when the change angle reaches a local minimum; and a step count counting means counting a plurality of time points when the change angle reaches the local minimum as the step count. The change angle calculation means calculates a cosine a<SB>i</SB>from the geomagnetic vector on a preceding time t<SB>i</SB>and the geomagnetic vector on a succeeding time t<SB>i+1</SB>, and the local minimum detection means can detect a time point when the cosine a<SB>i</SB>reaches a local maximum.
