PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion control device of an internal combustion engine capable of inhibiting the generation of both NOx and smoke. SOLUTION: At a low load operation of an engine, the injection of fuel for early slow combustion and premixed combustion is performed as first fuel injection at excessively advanced timing, and then second fuel injection for diffusion combustion is performed at a compression top dead point. Also, the injection amount of the fuel in the first fuel injection is increased as compared to that in the second fuel injection. An interference cooling action between injected each fuel is made to occur to contribute to a delay in ignition to increase the proportion of premixed combustion, thus resulting in the inhibition of the generation of smoke. By this, a large amount of EGR can be returned, whereby the generation of NOx can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
