PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article transfer device capable of smoothly supplying a stacking body carried in a plurality of rows from the upstream side to a carrying line for carrying at a predetermined pitch of one row on the downstream side. SOLUTION: The article transfer device includes a device 80 for carrying by rotating a stacking body gripping part 25 in a horizontal plane, by simultaneously receiving the stacking body 10 at a supply point P1 in a plurality of units by the stacking body gripping part 25; and a supply device for supplying its carried stacking body to a finger conveyor 78 at a carrying-out point P4. The supply device transfers an article to a relay area 83 by sending out in the same timing from the device 80 (Fig.(a)), and a plurality of articles sent out to its relay area are supplied between fingers 78a in the number (two pieces) fewer than the simultaneously received number (four pieces). In Fig.(b), the articles A and C are supplied to the finger conveyor 78, and the residual articles B and D are supplied in its next timing.
