PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melanin production inhibitor which effectively inhibits melanin production and to provide a highly safe skin-bleaching cosmetic excellent in skin-bleaching effect of preventing ultraviolet-induced skin pigmentation. SOLUTION: There are provided a melanin production inhibitor containing a compound represented by structural formula (1) as an active ingredient and a skin-bleaching cosmetic containing the melanin production inhibitor.
