PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element, which includes a layer formed by polymerizing a polymerizable compound, suppresses an increase of a driving voltage when a constant current is applied and deterioration of luminance when a current is applied, and exhibits a superior drive service life. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element includes a substrate, an anode and a cathode arranged on the substrate, and a plurality of organic layers arranged between the anode and the cathode. The plurality of organic layers include at least a first layer formed by polymerizing the polymerizable compound, and a second layer, which is arranged adjacent to the first layer and contains a polymerization initiator.
