PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an amount of displacement of a scale for detecting an amount of movement of a lens smaller than the amount of movement of the lens. SOLUTION: The lens driving device includes: a lens holder 7 capable of moving while holding a lens L3; a lever 11 having a coupling part 11c coupled with the lens holder and turning with movement of the lens holder; the scale 15 having a turning phase detecting pattern and provided on the lever 11; and a sensor 16 arranged to be opposed to the scale and outputting a signal corresponding to the turning phase detecting pattern according as the scale turns with the lever. On the lever, the value of a distance x1 between a turning shaft and the scale is shorter than a distance x2 between the turning shaft and the coupling part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
