PURPOSE: A semiconductor storage system which reduces the running time of wear-leveling is provided to make it unnecessary to increase the size of a buffer unit for temporary storage and to reduce the running time of wear-leveling. CONSTITUTION: A buffer unit(120) successively loads a plurality of mapping pages. Mapping information is stored in a plurality of mapping pages. A memory controller(140) sets up the number of mapping pages in order to find a target block that is a replaceable target of a worn block. The memory controller performs wear-leveling through the sampling of the mapping pages.
