PURPOSE: Airbag control system and method are provided to reduce an error rate to the inflation of an airbag by determining the inflated state of the airbag through an algorithm. CONSTITUTION: An airbag control system comprises a plurality of acceleration sensors(11,13) and a control unit(30). The acceleration sensors are installed on a given position of a vehicle. Acceleration sensors sense acceleration on each position of the vehicle. The control unit calculates the collision speed of the vehicle based on the acceleration supplied from the acceleration sensors, generates and transfers information on the collision speed based on a value for the collision speed.
