<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of reliably preventing a sense of congruity from being given to a driver without generating discontinuous output when differential compensation is made using a torque signal. <P>SOLUTION: Steering auxiliary control is usually performed based on a gain twice torque detection value obtained by multiplying a main torque detection value detected in a main torque detection part by n times, and the steering auxiliary control is performed based on the main torque detection value when the gain twice torque detection value is abnormal.
