METHOD FOR PRODUCING COLORING MATERIAL FOR COLOR FILTER, COLORING MATERIAL FOR COLOR FILTER PRODUCED BY THE METHOD, AND COLOR FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring material for a color filter compatibly having required characteristics of a high contrast ratio, lightness and the like required for the color filter and fluidity and stability with passage of time.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the coloring material for the color filter includes a step (A) for supplying and dispersing a pigment composition including a pigment, a pigment derivative and a liquid medium to a wet dispersion device using a medium having ≤0.3 mmϕ particle diameter, having no medium separation mechanism of a slit system and a screen system and having only a medium separation mechanism of a centrifugal separation system and a step (B) for adding and mixing a monomer and/or a resin to the pigment composition obtained in the step (A) if needed. The color filter has a filter segment formed by using the coloring material for the color filter manufactured by the method.
