<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device suppressing the occurrence of image history due to residual charge on an intermediate transfer belt when forming an image using a part of toner among toners of a plurality of colors. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device includes: a plurality of image forming parts that form toner images of respective colors on respective surfaces of image retainers; a transfer accepting body to the surface of which the toner images are transferred electrostatically; a plurality of transfer members that are opposed while holding the transfer accepting body between themselves and the plurality of image retainers and transfer the respective toner images to the transfer accepting body; a first charge applying part that switches, according to an instruction, between a first mode of applying the charge to all the transfer members and a second mode of applying the charge to a part of the transfer members; and a second charge applying part that applies, when the charge is applied in the second mode, a charge having the same polarity as that of the charged toners, to the transfer accepting body surface, at an applying point upstream of a place where the toner images are transferred to the transfer accepting body in a moving direction of the transfer accepting body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
