SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DISAMBIGUATING SHOOTER LOCATIONS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a long-distance shooter range when a muzzle signal is weak or the number of muzzle signals detected in a detection channel is insufficient. SOLUTION: A system for disambiguating a shooter location uses at least five spaced acoustic sensors. Sensor signals are detected for shock wave signals, and optionally for muzzle blast, wherein muzzle blast signals can be either incomplete coming from less than 4 sensor channels, or inconclusive due to a lack of a signal strength.
